Response to Fire and Hazmat Emergency is designed to enable learners to acquire the required competencies and function as a member of an emergency response team in order to meet and respond to fire and Hazmat emergencies in process plant. The competencies include working alone and in a team.

Objectives

To prepare CERT members with knowledge and skills to handle fire hazards (identify hazards and prevent fires from occurring) and mitigate outbreak of fire incidents and hazmat incidents in the plant. The training includes practical training sessions and exercises.

Who Should Attend

CERT, Fire Safety Officers and other staff who are the first to respond to fire fighting and mitigation of hazardous materials emergencies in the industrial premises.

Pre-Requisite :

Have received safety training related to a process plant.
Have received training in wearing breathing apparatus(BA), search and rescue, casualty handling and fire command and control systems.
Have related training or work experience in a process plant.
Be able to listen, read, speak and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System (ESS) level 6.
Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ESS level 6

Medical Requirement *COMPULSARY*

Participant is required to undergo a medical check-up if he/she intends to attend the 2-day or 3-day CERT course. The Medical Report is to be submitted to Avanta 1 week before the course commencement.
