Course Objective
On completion of this unit, the learner will have the knowledge and be equipped with the application skills in survey asbestos at the workplace. This includes:

Identifying asbestos hazards and evaluating the risk using established methods.
Conducting bulk and air clearance sampling of and assess asbestos exposure risks from the sampling results.
Formulating a management plan and recommending control measures for the management of asbestos.

Course Outline

  1. Asbestos and Other Fibres Exposure Risks at The Workplace
  2. Conduct Survey of Asbestos-Containing Materials and Other Fibres
  3. Bulk Sampling and Air Sampling for Asbestos
  4. Assess Asbestos Risk and Recommend Control Measures
  5. Formulate Asbestos Management Plan
•  WSQ Employability Skills Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 6
•  At least a Grade C6 in GCE ‘O’ level Chemistry or its equivalent
•  Competent in WSQ Develop A Risk Management Implementation Plan – “MF-COM-402E-1”
 
•  Recommended to have 2 years working experience in relevant industry (construction, marine, petrochemical, chemical process, manufacturing, facility management)
