The Ministry of Manpower administered Workplace Safety and Health (Design for Safety) Regulations 2015 will come into operation on 1 August 2016.
The key provisions of the WSH (DfS) new regulations are:

  • To place duties on developers and designers;
  • To require the implementation of a DfS review process throughout every phase of the construction project;
  • To require a DfS register for all construction projects;
  • To allow developers to appoint a DfS professional; and
  • To mandate it for projects with a contract value of $10 million and above

Course Overview

WSH (DfS) Regulations’ road map history, interpretation and evaluation of the legislation compliance, use of building information modelling and case studies are among the shared topics.

Course Objectives

  • To increase awareness and familiarise the participants with the MOM Workplace Safety and Health (Design for Safety) Regulations 2015
  • At the end of the course, participants will gain an understanding of each step involved in design for the safety of a building or structure life cycle
  • Participants will have the knowledge on how to interpret and comply with the legal and other requirements
  • Participants will also gain a deeper understanding of safeguarding the safety and health of the stakeholders; the public, co-workers and themselves.
