WSH Professionals Framework
(Certification in Workplace Safety & Health)

Course Objectives

This unit of competency specifies the knowledge, skills and attitudes required of a WSH representative to participate in compliance inspection and report the outcome of the inspection to superiors in the organisation.

Course Overview
  • Facilitate the conduct of compliance inspection in accordance with organisational procedures
  • Participate in WSH inspections in accordance with applicable legal requirements and organisational procedures
  • Identify non-compliances, unsafe work conditions and unsafe work practices according to organisational procedures
  • Report inspection findings and observations to superiors using appropriate channels and formats
  • Participate in monitoring status of corrective and preventive actions in accordance with management instructions

or equivalent

Mandatory Requirements

  • Be able to listen, read, speak and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills (ES) Level 4
  • Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills (ES) Level 4
  • Preferably hold a WSH related appointment
  • Completed 1 Pre-Requisite Module

1. Apply teamwork in the workplace (WPH-PIW-1101-1.1) OR
2. Continuous Process Improvement (PRE-PIN-2006-1.1 ) OR
3. Problem Identification (RET-ACE-2006-1.1)

Assumed Skills & Knowledge

  • Possess WSH skills and knowledge equivalent to that of Certificate in WSH
  • 1 Year of relevant Working experience in Workplace safety and health
