Course Outline:
This unit of competency specifies the knowledge, skills and attitudes required of a WSH Coordinator to plan and conduct WSH inspection, monitor compliance and compile a report on the WSH performance in an organisation.

Course Content:

  • Plan and conduct WSH inspection to determine conformity with acceptable
  • WSH conditions and behaviors in accordance with organisational procedures
  • Report findings on non-conformance WSH conditions and behaviors to relevant stakeholders in accordance with organisational procedures
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions to address the findings in accordance with organisational procedures
  • Monitor closure of the corrective and preventive actions with reference to identified WSH performance indicators
  • Compile a report on company’s WSH performance in accordance with organisational procedures

Mandatory Requirements

  • ES Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 5 or GCE “N” Level English grade 5 & Mathematics grade 5; AND
  • Possess WSH Skills and knowledge equivalent to that of Certificate in WSH; AND
  • Have at least 1 year of WSH relevant working experience; AND
  • Completed 2 Pre-Requisite Modules, with 1 module coming from Group 1 (Industry Modules) and 1 module coming from Group 2 (Soft Skills)

Certificate in one of the following Supervisory Level WSH Courses (Module Group 1):

  1. Workplace Safety and Health Management in Manufacturing Industry
  2. Workplace Safety and Health Management in Chemical, Process, Pharmaceutical Industries and Laboratories
  3. Workplace Safety and Health Supervision in Tunnelling Construction
  4. Workplace Safety and Health Management in Construction Industry
  5. Workplace Safety and Health Management in Marine Industry
  6. Workplace Safety and Health Management in Service Industry

AND

Certificate in one of the following ES Soft Skills Courses (Module Group 2):

  1. Innovation Management
  2. Problem Identification
  3. Team Effectiveness Management
