Course Objective

After successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

  • Prepare for advanced cleaning of washrooms
  • Perform periodic cleaning of toilet ceilings, glass, walls/ partitions, and fixtures and fittings systematically and safely
  • Perform de-scaling of urinals and toilet bowls using appropriate and systematic methods
  • Perform simple maintenance to washroom fixtures/fittings to put them back to working order
  • Perform advanced cleaning of toilet floors using appropriate equipment
  • Check cleanliness and reinstate work area

Assumed Skills & Knowledge:

  • Be able to listen, read, speak and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills (ESS) Level 1
  • Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills (ESS) Level 1
  • Have knowledge on own work role and corresponding responsibilities
  • Understand and apply industrial standards and organizational procedures related to performing cleaning activities
  • Understand and apply industrial standards and practices relating to use of  Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Have knowledge of the cleaning agents used in performing cleaning activities
