CSOC – Construction Safety Orientation Course / WSQ Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites (AWSHCS) Course is a mandatory WSH training course for all workers working in construction. Construction workers are required to go through the course before they start work. After the course, the trainees should be able identify their own roles and responsibilities in a construction job, follow safe work procedures, adopt relevant risk control measures when working at height and respond to fire emergencies.
English Language Proficiency Declaration
The participant (If self sponsored) or the Sponsored Company must declare that the trainee(s) have sufficient proficiency in Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing of English to undergo the course in English Language. Kindly download the “English Language Proficiency Declaration Form” and submit along with the registration form.
Course Content
WSQ Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites – AWSH-CS” / Formerly Construction Safety Orientation Course – CSOC is a Competency Unit under the Process Industry Framework. The Competency Elements covered are:
- Identify own roles and responsibilities as an employee in a construction job
- Follow safe work procedures in a construction job
- Follow safe “Work-at-Height” procedures
- Respond to fire emergencies

Electronic Statement of Attainment
Upon successful completion of the programme, learners will receive an electronic Statement of Attainment (e-SOA) issued by the Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA).

Entry Requirements
Learners must be above 18 years of age and are assumed to:
- Have employment status as manual labour to carry out construction work in building and engineering construction worksites
- Be medically fit
- Be able to listen, read, speak and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills (ES) level 2
- Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills (ES) level 2
- Have good organisational skills
- Be able to follow written and oral work instructions
